Elena is a Paris based international arbitration lawyer with over 20 years of experience in the field of commercial and investment dispute resolution, admitted to the Paris and Madrid bars. She holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration (Universidad Pontificia de Comillas ICADE (E-3), Madrid).
Elena has a 360º perspective of international arbitration, which stems from her past and present experience as an international arbitrator, former Secretary General of the Madrid Court of Arbitration, counsel at major law firms like Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz in New York and Uria Menendez in Madrid and Observer for 5 years before UNCITRAL Working Groups II & III.
Elena regularly serves as international arbitrator (ICC, CCL, Amcham Perú, ICDR, ad hoc Uncitral, Corte de Arbitraje de Madrid, Corte Española de Arbitraje, Tribunal Arbitral de Barcelona) and has acted as Sole Arbitrator, Presiding Arbitrator, Party Appointed Arbitrator and Emergency Arbitrator. Elena has decided cases related to corporate matters (M&A, shareholders agreements and joint ventures), construction, infrastructure, energy, banking, shipping, international sales, and distribution and agency disputes, both involving private parties and public entities.
