Yves Derains, ex Secretario General de la Corte de Arbitraje de la CCI, es Presidente del ICC Institute of World Business Law desde 2010. Es también ex Presidente de la Corte de Arbitraje del Jerusalén Arbitration Center (JAC) creada por los Comités
Nacionales Israelí e Palestino de la CCI. Tiene más de 40 años de experiencia en materia de arbitraje. Al momento de su partida de la CCI, se unió al bufete canadiense Phillips & Vineberg para crear, poco tiempo después, uno de los primeros bufetes especializados en arbitraje, Derains Gélinas & Associés, que luego se convertió en Derains & Associés, y finalmente fundó Derains & Gharavi en 2009.

Yves Derains siempre se ha consagrado al desarrollo del arbitraje internacional. Dirigió con éxito los trabajos de Revisión del Reglamento de Arbitraje de la CCI adoptado en 1998 y ha participado en la revisión del nuevo Reglamento vigente a partir del 1º de enero de 2012. Yves Derains ofrece una doble faceta de árbitro y asesor gracias a su larga experiencia. Su competencia ha sido particularmente reconocida en América Latina, donde preside arbitrajes en procedimientos llevados a cabo en español y en portugués.

Como ex Presidente del Comité Français de l’Arbitrage, Yves Derains está inscrito en la lista de árbitros de numerosas instituciones de arbitraje y participa en conferencias en el mundo entero. Es co autor del libro A guide to the ICC Rules and Arbtiration, 2nd Edition, (Kluwer Law International, 2005 – co-autor E. Schwartz) el cual constituye la obra de referencia en materias de aplicación e interpretación del Reglamento de Arbitraje CCI.

Yves Derains interviene tanto en calidad de árbitro o Presidente de Tribunales arbitrales como de asesor en procedimientos arbitrales regidos bajo toda clase de reglamento de arbitraje. Recientemente, fue nombrado en varios arbitrajes en materia de inversión que han sido altamente comentados por los especialistas del arbitraje internacional.

Yves Derains has always devoted himself to the development of international arbitration.
